Research Interest:

Dr. Alberg's primary research interests center around exposure to cigarette smoking, including 1) further elucidating the etiology of tobacco-associated malignancies such as lung and head/neck cancer; 2) exposure to secondhand smoke as a potential risk factor for tobacco-associated malignancies other than lung cancer; and 3) tobacco control issues, such as the use of smoking cessation pharmacotherapies in the general population and potential health effects associated with them.

Honors:
Blatt Ness Endowed Chair in Oncology, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC

Positions:
Associate Director, Population Sciences, Hollings Cancer Center, Medical University of South Carolina
Interim Director, Hollings Cancer Center, Medical University of South Carolina
